The sole founder of Delhi's vastly recognized food brand Al Bake (immensely popular for its adaptation of Lebanese food Shawarma) , Mirza Ziauddin Beg possesses deep ancestral roots from The Royal Mughal family. He has always loved to eat different food as it has been the culture of Great Mughal dynasty. Once the zamidari system abolished in India, Mughal went all over the world to get better means of survival. In due course Mirza landed to Saudi Arabia and served many organisations and enriched them with Indian food.
During his stay in Saudi Arabia he also came across the cousines from different cultures like Lebanese, Spanish, Greek etc, and what he loved most of them was one of the Lebanese food Shawarma. All over the time, he thought to bring this food to India to add to its legendary & rich food Culture. Mirza was quick to understand that this food in its raw natural form is not going to work for taste rich delhites and need some blending and with his experience and innovation he has given new dimension to this food.
Finally in Year 2000, with the onset of the new century, he gave Delhites a new taste which they might not have experienced ever before by setting up a small takeaway with the name Al-Bake at community centre in New Friends Colony which went on to be known as Shawarma Centre now a days by the young delhites.
The fact that Delhites lapped it up hands on is evident from the huge huge success & recognition associated with it today
Mirza is currently serving this dish to delhites by expanding to many new areas of Delhi and trying to reach everybody’s door step along with the other Indian foods to satisfy his customers's taste buds & his own passion for food.
